Those enchanting children of the theatre

who make me laugh or cry,

remember or forget –

they free my mind

to fly upon a world of make-believe,

they lift me out of mediocrity

and for a little while,

they let me be

the things I want to be –

my applause and admiration

will never quite repay the debt –
